What is BORDERLIVE EUROPE

BORDERLIVE EUROPE is a participatory project focused on the external land borders of the European Union.

The project allows individuals to visit these borders and record their presence by adding a location, a photo or video, and a short written note.

All contributions are displayed on a shared digital map, creating a collective record of visits along the EU external land border.

How does BORDERLIVE EUROPE work?

Participation is simple and open.

Step 1 - Get Access

Purchase access to the project (9,99 € per year).

The access is valid for:

  • An individual
  • A couple
  • A family

Each access allows unlimited  recorded points.

Step 2 - Go to the Border

Visit any point along the external land border of the European Union.

Step 3 - Create Your Entry

Take a photo or video and write a short note.

Step 4 - Submit Your Location

Upload your visit to the map.

The Border Map

The map is the central element of the project.

The first view presents a clean visual overview of the EU external land border.

Further interaction reveals a detailed, interactive map with all recorded visits.

The map displays:

  • The external land border of the EU
  • Official points
  • User-created points

Each point contains:

  • Location
  • Photo or video
  • Short written note

Types of Points

The project includes two types of points.

First Visitor Rule

Each official point has a first visitor.

The first recorded visit to a point remains permanently linked to that location.

What You Get

By joining BORDERLIVE EUROPE, you receive:

  • Ability to add unlimited recorded visits per access
  • Ability to upload photos or videos
  • Ability to write and publish entries

Important Information

The project includes only external land borders of the EU.

It does not include:

  • Sea borders
  • Internal EU borders

Participants are responsible for organizing their own travel and respecting local laws and regulations.
